East Gippsland Marketing, in association with the East Gippsland Food and Wine Network, established a ‘Feast On East’ themed dinner that was held at Fenix Restaurant in Richmond, Melbourne, in October. The dinner showcased many of the fantastic food and wine of East Gippsland, and was cooked by Fenix Head Chef, Andrew Beddoes. Representing our region was Grassvale Beef, Lightfoot & Sons wine, Nullamunjie Olive Oil, Chocodence, Frais Farms, Bonaccord Ingram, Goodes Honey, Capra Organic Goats Cheese and Bullant Brewery.
The restaurant, owned by MasterChef judge Gary Mehigan, prepared and cooked for the event, and was host to many patrons including journalists and food enthusiasts.
The importance of the event was to not only demonstrate that East Gippsland has some of the highest quality food and beverages in Victoria, but to also initiate supplier relationships in the Melbourne market.
